In the time he has spent as head coach of the Michigan State Spartans, Mark Dantonio has secured the most wins by a head coach since 1996-97 (16-10). In his first season as head coach of the Michigan State Spartans, Mark Dantonio led the team to 7-5 record and Michigan State University’s first bowl bid in four years, becoming the third coach in the program’s history to earn a postseason bowl bid. 2007 brought Michigan State University and Mark Dantonio to the forefront as they ranked highly in the conference for scoring offense, rushing offense, and total offense.
