Marcus Hyde, born September 7, 1988, is a strong safety for the Michigan State Spartans. He graduated from Fostoria High School in Fostoria, Ohio.
Marcus Hyde was a two-way all-star throughout high school. Playing at both tailback and quarterback positions, in his senior year he earned national recognition in both positions, racking up 1,993 total yards in the quarterback slot and 71 tackles as a tailback.
His football career as a Michigan State Spartan began in 2007 where, as a red shirted freshman, Marcus Hyde saw action in ten games, and continued to play in all 13 games over the 2008 season. His career-best of 31 tackles occurred over the 2008 season, and is recognized as a player who can step up and deliver when given opportunities.
