Joel Nitchman is the starting center for the Michigan State Spartan’s offensive line. Born September 29, 1986, Joel Nitchman graduated from Catholic Central High School in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

As a member of the Fighting Irish at Catholic Central High School, Joel Nitchman ranked amongst the nation’s top offensive guards by, SuperPrep’s, Prep Football Reports and PrepStar. This two-tim All-League and All-Conference selection graded out 91% of his blocking assignments in 2004.

Joel Nitchman made his presence felt immediately as a freshman with the Michigan State Spartan football team. As a freshman, he was named Scout Team Offensive Player of the Week versus Purdue and appeared in 10 games his sophomore year. The 2008 (junior) season brought Joel Nitchman honorable mention All-Big Ten by the league’s media and Michigan State University’s Outstanding Underclass Lineman Award.
