Jairus Jones was born on June 6, 1990 in Tampa, Florida.
Attending Wharton High School, Jairus Jones was ranked as one of the top safeties in the country. He was a first team All-Hillsborough County pick as a senior and represented the East Team in the 2008 Hillsborough County All-Star Game. He was a 2 time first team All-Western Conference selection with 188 tackles his senior season.
In 2009, Jairus Jones was redshirted.
